Mythical Creatures 🤩🌍
Travel through time and place as well learn about hybrids of lions, eagles and more! Scrumptious veggie trains with a honey mustard dip, and colouring a griffin! 🥳
Magnificent Hybrids 🦁🦅
The fusion of lions, eagles (and even humans) in art has been found all over the world throughout history 🌍
These guardians placed at doorways of Assyrian palaces in Ancient Mesopotamia (around modern day Iraq) are known as Lamassu, and they are over 2800 years old! Part lion, part eagle, part human - they embody the strengths of all combined 🤩 Feels almost like having a superpowers - the strength and courage of a lion, the freedom and ability to fly like an eagle, all partnered with human creativity and thought! When viewed from the side, this creature seems to be moving due to the fifth leg!
In more recent history (only around 500 years ago), this French tile of a golden griffon - half lion half eagle, has the inscription ‘we must think’ … what do you think about it?
What other famous fusions can you think of? I’ll give you a hint:
I live in the ocean but I am not a fish.
To be ‘part of your world’ was my only wish … 🎶
I traded my voice for life on land,
But finding true love was harder than planned.
What am I?

Want to make them delicious? Make a yummy dressing 😋
Transportation totally changed the world didn’t it? Before airplanes, cars, ships and trains, people had to go by foot or horse and carriage! Just think how much more accessible the world became 🌟
Ingredients:
For the Veggie Trains:
Sweet peppers
Cucumbers
Carrots
Cherry tomatoes
And any veggies you’d like, you can add lettuce, chicory, or even celery (though I prefer this dipped into crunchy peanut butter …)
For the Honey Mustard Dip from Pinch of Yum recipes
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup mayonaise
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1 tbsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Method:
For the Veggie Trains:
Cut your sweet peppers like the picture above to make the train carriages.
Slice your cucumbers to make wheels.
Chop the rest of your veggies so they can sit in the sweet pepper train carriages!
For the Honey Mustard Dip:
Mix together your honey, dijon mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, cayenne pepper and enjoy!
Colour in your own mythical Griffin!
If you were to mix and match your own hybrid animal, which animal skills and personality traits would you choose? Maybe a dolphin tail to swim? Wings of an eagle to fly? A lions courage? A gorillas strength? A monkeys tail to swing from branches? Have a go drawing your own and send them in to hello@hanaleeproductions.com 🥳
